An honest, physician-led alternative to joint surgery — minutes from Palm Beach.
This page is for the Town of Palm Beach — the island of Worth Avenue, The Breakers, and the Lake Trail — not the county at large. Many residents here are past 65 and still golfing, walking, and playing tennis. When a knee or hip starts to interfere, James C. Padula, DO offers an unhurried, non-surgical evaluation fifteen to twenty-five minutes away.

Why Town of Palm Beach Residents Look Beyond Surgery
The Town of Palm Beach has a median age of just over 70, and more than half of its residents are 65 or older. Most did not move to the island to sit still. Mornings mean golf at the Everglades Club or Palm Beach Country Club, tennis at Phipps Ocean Park, or a walk on the Lake Trail. When a joint begins to limit those routines, the question is rarely whether to act. It is whether surgery is truly the only option.
For many on the island, it is not. James C. Padula, DO — board-certified, with more than 25 years in practice — evaluates knees, hips, shoulders, and spines that have worn with decades of use, and gives a plain answer about whether regenerative medicine or PRP is appropriate. There is no sales presentation and no pressure; if there is no medical need, the visit costs nothing.
The practice also works around the island's calendar. Residency peaks from November through April, and many patients want an evaluation early in the season so any care can be planned around travel north. Records and imaging from physicians elsewhere are reviewed as part of the consultation, so a second home does not mean starting over.

From the Island to 10th Avenue North: How a Visit Works
The office sits at 1926 10th Avenue North in Lake Worth Beach, just off I-95. From the South End, the Southern Boulevard bridge connects to I-95 South and the 10th Avenue North exit in roughly 15 to 20 minutes. From Midtown, take the Royal Park Bridge to Okeechobee Boulevard, then I-95 South — closer to 20 to 25 minutes, and a little longer in season.
The visit itself is deliberately unhurried. Dr. Padula reviews your history and any existing X-rays or MRI studies, examines the joint, and explains what is actually driving the pain. If PRP or another form of regenerative medicine is a reasonable fit, he will describe what treatment involves and what it cannot promise. If there is no medical need he can treat, he will say so plainly, and the visit costs $0.
Appointments run at a concierge pace: patients are seen promptly, privately, and without being handed from staffer to staffer. The practice is physician-led rather than franchise-run, and discretion is treated as a matter of course. Because the office sits immediately off I-95 at the 10th Avenue North exit, many island residents fold the visit into a normal mainland errand rather than setting aside a full morning.

Golf Swings, Tennis Serves, and the Lake Trail
A golf swing concentrates rotational load in the lead hip and knee, and decades of rounds at the Everglades Club, Palm Beach Country Club, or The Breakers' Ocean Course add up. Arthritic knees and hips often announce themselves first in the follow-through: a pinch at the top of the swing, stiffness on the back nine. Non-surgical options, including PRP, aim to calm the joint and support function; whether they are appropriate depends on the imaging, and results vary from patient to patient.
Tennis at Phipps Ocean Park or the Seaview Avenue courts puts a different demand on shoulders. Serves and overheads wear on the rotator cuff, and elbow tendons take the repetition. Some of these problems respond well to conservative, non-surgical care; others truly need a surgeon. The distinction is made with an exam and imaging, not a brochure, which is why the consultation carries no obligation.
Then there is the Lake Trail, more than five miles along the water that many residents walk or cycle daily. When a back or hip makes that loop shorter each month, it tends to be the change people notice most. For lumbar and joint pain that has not responded to rest or medication, a careful evaluation can clarify whether non-surgical care is worth pursuing before anyone talks about an operation.
